Kate Moore has lived in East Maitland most of her life, so it’s not surprising that she and partner Travis Walker chose Harvest for their first home.

The couple became Harvest’s first residents when they moved into their new four bedroom, two bathroom Eden Brae home recently, which they purchased as a turnkey house and land package.

Travis works in the mines and Kate is a final year student of medicine who is also working as a psychologist, so the couple opted for the convenience of a ready-to-move into home.

“We lead busy lives and don’t have the time to engage in the building process, so a completed home was the perfect option. We moved in, unpacked and there was nothing more to do, even tiling and landscaping was done!” said Travis.

“Eden Brae was fantastic, I couldn’t fault them. I’m quite a picky person and our Eden Brae Project Manager was pointing out little things that needed to be completed before I’d even noticed them. They even mowed the lawn for us before we got the keys,” Kate said.

The couple had been renting a house from Travis’ parents in Ashtonfield. They were keen to benefit from the $15,000 First Home Owners Grant before its reduction to $10,000 on 1 January 2016.

Kate and Travis inspected several other new estates but Harvest appealed to them immediately.

“Harvest was different, it has a really nice feel to it,” said Kate

“We both love this part of the Hunter. It’s close to Newcastle and offers easy access to Sydney but it’s a quieter, calmer lifestyle.

“The fact that Harvest will only have around 400 lots was important to us. It won’t be one of those never ending estates where the homes are really close together. Plus the lots at Harvest are larger than at most other estates in the area,” she said.

Kate and Travis are confident that their purchase is a sound investment for their future.

“Harvest ticks all the boxes. It’s close to Maitland’s Greenhills Shopping Centre which will soon receive $377 million upgrade and will be very close to the new $400 million Maitland hospital,” said Kate.

The couple is so happy with Harvest that they are considering purchasing a second lot.

“We’ve been told that there will be some large, ranch style lots in Harvest’s next land release. We have two dogs so the extra space would be great for them. Plus, I’d really like an acreage style homes,” said Kate

“We’ll have to wait and see but we’re thinking seriously about it,” she said.
