Neil Farley never considered leaving East Maitland when he and wife Veronica decided to upgrade from the home they had lived in for 11 years.
“We love the area because it has everything we need. There are shopping centres, cinemas, restaurants and it’s only 30 minutes to Newcastle or the vineyards,” said Neil.
“Plus it’s a quiet lifestyle and we really like that,” he commented.
Neil and Veronica have purchased an 828m² lot in the Harvest Gardens neighbourhood on which they will build a four bedroom, open plan home with a large alfresco.
“We started out by looking for an existing home but we just couldn’t find anything that ticked all of our boxes. That’s when we thought about buying land at Harvest and building our own home,” Veronica remarked.
Harvest’s elevated position and views across the farmland towards the hills appealed to them.
“The fact that Harvest won’t be a large estate appealed to us”.
“I like the fact that we won’t be too far off Raymond Terrace Road. We won’t have to drive though a rabbit warren of houses to get to our home!” she expressed.
The opportunity to buy a large lot also appealed to the couple.
“We really enjoy sitting outside in summer. Our new home will be on a corner lot and at 828m², we’ll still be able to have a large yard,” said Neil.
“We’re looking forward to having a brand new home. That will be great. Now we just have to sell our current home and we can get started. Hopefully that won’t take too long,” he said.
